MaisMe! is a vegan milk substitute drink based on corn and impresses with its white color, fine taste and very pleasant mouthfeel reminiscent of cow's milk.
The development took over a year, which together with the research partner ZHAW (Zurich University of Applied Sciences) and thanks to funding from Innosuisse (Swiss Innovation Agency) resulted in a product that is unique in Switzerland: The first milk substitute product based on corn.
MaisMe! stands for 100% Swissness thanks to cultivation contracts with over 200 farmers from all over Switzerland, owned by the Lütolf company based in eastern Switzerland.
In their mills, the so-called corn millfeed is produced during the processing of corn, which is often degraded to animal feed due to a lack of sales opportunities.
With the aim of promoting the sustainability of Swiss corn, a process was developed to use this former waste product as a raw material for a milk substitute product.
The result is a sensory unique product, which is 100% in line with the current zeitgeist.
