Who doesn’t know the cult westerns of the Italian duo Bud Spencer and Terence Hill? In several of their films, one meal played a prominent role: a bean dish, often eaten straight from the pan. Bud Spencer, an avid hobby cook, created the recipe himself – ensuring it tasted especially good for the protagonists on set.

Canned beans based on the film star’s original recipe
Bud Spencer’s family keeps his legendary bean dish alive. Under the brand Bud Power, they produce canned beans following the actor’s original recipe: the classic with pinto beans and smoked pancetta, as well as a vegan option with black beans Tex-Mex style. All ingredients come from Italy. Soon, a third variety – barbecue-style beans – will also be available on the Swiss market.
