The Swiss consumer magazines Kassensturz and K-Tipp had 13 of the best-selling extra virgin olive oils tested for their taste quality. The blind tasting was conducted by the Swiss Olive Oil Panel (SOP) at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW).
Only two brands received the rating “Very good,” including Iliada olive oil. The product tested was Iliada Extra Virgin Kalamata PDO Olive Oil in the 1-liter bottle.
This confirms the brand’s success: in Switzerland, Iliada is the best-selling Greek olive oil.
Extra Virgin – olive oils of the highest quality
The term “Extra Virgin” (also “Extra Native”) denotes olive oil of the highest quality and is strictly regulated by law. It refers to pure olive oil from the first pressing, extracted immediately after harvest, carefully processed, and free from chemical additives.
To carry this designation, olive oils must meet strict chemical and sensory standards. The latest SOP test results confirm that Iliada masters this challenge impressively.
