Preiss Mood

Preiss Typical bread of South Tyrol

The Preiss Schüttelbrot (Crisp natural bread) is a typcial brad from South Tyrol. It goes perfectly with a platter of bacon, sausage, cheese, wine or beer. Those who love variety will find a wide range of flavours in our assortment. Tip: Open the packet sideways with a knife, place the flatbread upside down on the table and break with a light tap. Our diverse range of bread is produced in one of the most beautiful mountain regions in Europe, the Vinschgau Valley. It is therefore a constant challenge for us to always produce our products in harmony with nature. High-quality ingredients combined with the knowledge of traditional recipes guarantee a nutritious and original product. Day after day and night after night, we bake over 90 different types of bread and rolls, from traditional Vinschgau Paarl to typical Italian wheat bread. Our story began in 1959 when Mr Johann Preiss founded a bakery in Göflan (Vinschgau). At that time, the bread was still distributed by bicycle. Soon the savoury Vinschgau Paarlen with the typical sourdough and bread clover were known throughout the country and, with the advent of tourism, also beyond its borders.
